Chapter 22 - The Mob Heroine's Plumpness Trait
There were two things that caught my attention about Mogami-san’s appearance in her uniform.
First, the fact that she was wearing her tracksuit over it. I made sure to have her take it off properly, and thanks to that, her stacked trait was now plain to see. But, to be fair, that was an option I'd been suggesting since before summer break. So it probably wasn't a total shock to her. She agreed to it surprisingly easily.
This second point, however... this was the first time I was bringing it up. I had never mentioned it before, so she might be a little resistant to it. Still, if she went along with this suggestion, I was confident it would raise her status to an entirely new level.
Honestly, she was already plenty attractive as she was. But it would be foolish to underestimate the other heroines vying for the attention of our protagonist, Sanada Saiga.
Being a ‘beauty’ is just the baseline. You've got the smart ones, the star athletes, and, of course, there are other stacked heroines in the cast, too. As of right now, Mogami-san has only just barely managed to get on the same starting line as them.
That's exactly why she needs one more thing. A differentiator. Something to make her transcend the competition and leave the other heroines in the dust. That's what I'm hoping for.
“So, um… what’s the second thing?”
It seemed she was curious after all.
Having taken off her tracksuit, Mogami-san asked nervously, fidgeting and trying to cover her chest with her hands. The fact that she couldn’t hide it at all because of how big they were only made the sight even more perfect.
Her top half is now a perfect 10. However, there's still one part I haven't taken care of. And that is, her bottom half.
“I think your skirt’s too long.”
That was it. Mogami-san's skirt was noticeably longer than any of the other girls'. It was long enough to completely cover her knees, meaning the only skin she was showing was from the shins down.
I wanted to take care of this part as well.
“I suggest making it shorter.”
“S-s-s-shorter!?”
As expected, Mogami-san looked completely shocked. And as she jumped in surprise, her chest gave a soft bounce. Her bangs swayed, too, revealing her sky-blue eyes.
Man, the charm you catch in her little, unguarded moments is just so good. And in addition to that, if her skirt was short enough to sway, that'd be even better.
"It just looks unbalanced. Your 'top-half' is all high-tech light armor, but your 'bottom-half' is old-fashioned heavy armor."
“B-but, but, but…! Sato-kun! I mean, sure, I did exercise a lot over the summer. I even lost a little bit of weight, and I was really happy about that. But still… I’m not exactly thin yet. My body’s still a little heavier than average. So…”
"...? So... what?"
Huh? If she'd just said "it's embarrassing," I would've understood. I'm throwing a lot at her, and this is a very sensitive subject. For most people, this would absolutely be considered sexual harassment.
However, Mogami-san had mentioned that she was surprisingly tolerant of off-color jokes, and didn't feel particularly uncomfortable when spoken to so bluntly. In fact, she seemed to dislike it more if I lied. So, I was just being direct.
Still, I was fully prepared to back off if she really hated the idea. But, it seemed her reason for not wanting to shorten it wasn't because she was embarrassed.
“T-they’re thick…”
“Thick?”
“M-my thighs… they’re thick!”
Well, it wasn’t like I didn’t know what she meant. If she said ‘thick’ in the context of a short skirt, of course she was talking about her thighs. What made me raise an eyebrow was the word "thick" itself. I see. So what really bothered her was showing off her thighs.
"They're thighs. Of course they're going to be thick."
"Huh? No, no! All the other girls have slender, beautiful legs! Mine are just plump... They're awful!"
“…Haah.”
"Eh? Why are you looking at me with such an exasperated look...?"
I mean, can you blame me? Because, Mogami-san, you are seriously mistaken about something.
“Plump thighs are amazing, alright? Have you been living under a rock? Don't you know the current heroine trends? It's an S-tier trait, right up there with the 'supermodel' type! Mogami-san, why don’t you get how attractive you actually are?”
“H-heroine? Trend? Trait? Sato-kun, sometimes I have no idea what you’re talking about!”
“Anyway—Have some confidence, Mogami Fuko!”
“Eek!”
I barked it out like a drill sergeant. Startled by my sudden outburst, Mogami-san jumped a little, her eyes wide. But I couldn’t hold back my passion.
"A quiet, pure, unassuming girl who's secretly stacked and has a plump figure... How is that not the ultimate combo?! If I were really your schoolmate, I would 100% fall in love with you secretly from afar, be too chicken to confess at graduation, and then spend the rest of my adult life regretting it!"
"Eh? W-We are schoolmates! Sato-kun, we go to the same school!"
Ah. I’d gotten carried away and said something weird again. Anyway, my point is, that's just how many S-tier traits Mogami-san is hiding. Hiding a weapon like that is just such a waste. You could say those are her differentiator that sets her apart from the other heroines.
A modest and innocent girl who, beneath that plain surface, carried a surprisingly alluring charm. That gap alone would be enough to captivate even Sanada himself.
Translator's Note
Just wanted to clear up the 'schoolmate' bit.
The word they're both using is 同級生 (doukyuusei).
In Japanese, 同級生 (doukyuusei) means 'classmates' but it also means 'anyone in the same grade (like all second-years), not necessarily the same classroom.' (Sato is Class D, Mogami is Class A, but they're both second-years, so they are 同級生).
The joke here is that Sato (who's mentally a 28-year-old) gets so fired up in his rant that he has a "slip-up." When he says, "If I were really your 同級生..." he means, "If I were actually a 17-year-old high school kid..."
Mogami, of course, has no idea he's an adult reincarnator, so she's just totally confused, like, "Huh? But we are in the same grade! What are you talking about?"
