Chapter 2 - Achievement: "Let's Pull the Gacha!"
[You have unlocked the achievement: 'Let's Pull the Gacha!']
[The reward has been added to the Gift Box.]
I was puzzled when a game-like window suddenly appeared in front of me, telling me that I had unlocked something called "achievement."
What's this? Is this the so-called status window that appears in the isekai novels found in "Shousetsuka ni Narou"?
Now then, what is this 'achievement' thing?
There was a help icon in the upper right corner, so I clicked it and found two items: how to play the gacha and a term list. In fact, there were only three items in the term list: "gacha," "achievements," and "gift box." What is this? Are the developers joking around? Do your job properly for god's sake.
I clicked on "achievements," and an explanation appeared.
[Achievements]
[A record of the achievements the user has achieved in the past. Rewards will be given by the administration for every achievement.
You can check your achievements from the Achievement List.]
Administration? Did I really get kidnapped for the filthy-rich people's entertainment after all? The possibility of that theory increased.
Well, I can think about the administration later.
I thought, before returning to the term list from the achievement section.
Then, there was an additional section called "Administration" in the term list.
[Administration]
[The administration is responsible for running and overseeing the system and gacha, as well as for providing and managing the prizes that come out of the gacha.]
...No, wait, hold on. I need more information, you know? And come to think of it, wasn't this section not here just a moment ago?
Could it be that whatever I see or the words I encounter are being added to the term list?
Honestly, that is very user-unfriendly.
"Heeeey! Do you guys have anything more to add? Even a movie about a death game explains things better than you guys do!" I screamed, and received no response. I already knew that though.
Now then, let's go to the Achievement List. It was easy to find. In fact, this system only had three things: help, gift box, and achievement list. They should really make it more comprehensive. I checked it out with a sigh.
[Achievement: Let's Pull the Gacha!]
[Achievement given to users who have pulled the gacha once. We applaud your courage for pulling the gacha without hesitation.]
[Rewards:]
Partial System Unlocking (automatically granted)
10 gacha coins.
System Unlocking? Is it referring to the system that I'm currently using? 'Partial Unlocking' means it will be gradually opened up from now on? Come to think of it, games don't have all their features available from the start. Little by little, functions are unlocked as the game progresses.
But more importantly, the reward. I tapped on the icon wrapped in a red box with a yellow ribbon to open it, and sure enough, there it was, "10 Gacha Coins." I unhesitantly tapped on it.
[Do you want to receive 10 gacha coins?]
Yes No
After clicking 'Yes,' light particles suddenly gathered from somewhere and the space in front of me was engulfed in light. By the time the light dissipated, a blue coin was floating in front of me.
I know it's a bit late for this but, what the hell? The system, the effects, and everything. This level of technology is abnormal.
However, abnormal or not, there's nothing else for me to do but to try my luck with this gacha. I have no choice but to do so.
I took the floating coin that defied gravity and walked towards the gacha. Then, a display screen appeared on the top of the gacha, the place where the contents of each capsule should've originally been written.
What!? There was no display screen just now, what's going on?
I was completely puzzled. But thinking about such nonsense wouldn't change anything.
With a sigh, I inserted the coin into the slot of the gacha and pulled the lever.
Clank!
Capsules started pouring out of the outlet one after another.
There were some letters displayed on the display screen.
C - Origami Crane
C - Doghouse
C - Daruma Doll
C - Pocket Tissue
C - Teacup
UC - Level 3 Bookkeeping Textbook
C - Lensless Eyeglasses
C - Cooling Gel Sheets
UC - Antihistamines
C - Citrus Fruit
E-err. If this is what I got now, or what I'll usually get from the gacha later on, then these are all useless.
I mean, what am I supposed to do with these things?
As I thought that, the display screen changed.
[A 10 pull gives a bonus pull for free. In addition, an R or higher rarity is guaranteed to be drawn.]
Clank!
R - Toilet
Aaah! Yes, a toilet! I got a toilet!
I have wanted to go to the bathroom ever since I woke up. I quickly opened the blue capsule that was dispensed.
Inside, there was a piece of paper with 'toilet' written on it.
Doong.
As a sound echoed, I looked towards the source, and there was a wooden door installed where the wall used to be. I hurried to the door, turned the doorknob, and went inside.
Aah, that hits the spot.
Inside, there was only one huge western-style toilet and two rolls of toilet paper. The door was also made of wood.
I have to be careful not to waste the toilet paper or I'll be damned.

Remembering the 10 items I have pulled earlier from the gacha, I couldn't help but think they were all useless junk.
*****
It was a very shocking announcement. At first, everyone thought it was a hallucination. However, it became known that not only themselves nor the people around them, but people all over the world could also hear the voice.
Amidst the confusion, the United Nations secretary-general held an emergency press conference.
"The voice everyone heard earlier was not a hallucination. It was all speaking truthful facts."
"As they've said, if we continue our ways as it is, humanity will perish. This is the conclusion reached by the higher intelligent life forms than humanity."
"As a result, we, the leaders, have been deemed unqualified to govern and lead humanity, and our control over Earth has been stripped away."
"The right to control Earth will be given to the winner of the competition mentioned in the announcement."
After this press conference, countries such as the United States, Japan, Russia, and the United Kingdom held similar press conferences. Images were projected into the sky all over the world, which in turn threw people in great turmoil. At the same time, a website was launched on the internet. The information and current situations of the one thousand selected individuals were streamed live on camera.

There is no way UN or any politicans for that matter will accept this easily.
